Since ancient times, and especially during the period of the Indian epic, the Ramayana, Mango has been considered as a ‘royal’ fruit in the system of Ayurvedic medicine. Ripe fruit from the mango tree is a rich source of vitamins and antioxidants. It replenishes body energy, balances all three biological principles of vata, pitta and kapha and enhances nourishment of the seven bodily tissues (dhatus).
