Do you have a pet that you go for walks with? That’s great, use this time not only for him, but also for yourself. Discover the amazing stretching exercises that you can perform only with … a leash.

We have written many times that it is worth having a four-legged friend. Apart from the main emotional aspect, the dog – regardless of its size – mobilizes us to leave the house every day. Walking with him is an ideal time to relax and contact with nature. To get even more out of it, we suggest combining a daily walk with a simple set of stretching exercises, thanks to which we can improve e.g. condition of the spine, efficiency of shoulder joints, improve lung capacity, prevent slouching of the figure naturally. You only need your pet’s leash to make them.

Exercise 1
Arms freely lowered, body straight. You hold the leash in your right hand. Put both hands up as high as you can. Pass the leash from one hand to the other over your head. Slowly lower your arms. Do this exercise again, this time shifting the leash from left to right hand. Repeat 10-20 times.

Exercise 2
Fold the leash in half and hold it in front of you in both hands, grasping the ends. Extend your arms in front of you, then raise them slowly in a smooth motion. Pass the leash over your head until it touches your neck. Raise your elbows up, perpendicular to your shoulders. Count to ten. Then slowly fold the leash back over your head and return to its original position. Repeat the exercise 5-10 times.

Exercise 3
Do this exercise while walking slowly. Grasp the ends of the leash in your hands and stretch it right behind your head. As you tighten the leash and pull on the ends, press against your head. As your neck and head are approximately in line, slowly exhale from your lungs. Then, as you inhale, slowly relax your muscles and relieve the tension on the leash. Repeat the exercise 10-15 times.

Exercise 4

Keep the leash behind your back, across the width of your outstretched arms. Lower your right arm down while tilting your torso to the right. Without releasing the leash, lift your left arm upwards, trying to straighten it as far as possible. Then smoothly change the position of the hands – the left hand pointing down, the right one up, and this time leaning the torso to the left. Do this posture correction exercise smoothly 10-15 times.

Finally, stand slightly astride and take 10 breaths slowly.
Don’t you feel more relaxed now?
